What if Monsters Lived?

What if the Slender Man were real? How would you even know? According to the myths and legends, he stalks his prey and drives them insane, but we know he is not real. He started out as an internet meme online. He is so popular because he is not real, and we know that supernatural monsters like him don't exist. Right? What about the infamous Slender Man stabbing of 2014 where two young girls stabbed a classmate to impress the Slender Man? I mean there is a documentary and everything. Slender Man, Pennywise the Clown, Bigfoot, the Sheepsquatch of West Virginia (look him up). Why do people obsess over them?

As a personal fan of the Slender Man himself (no I do not think he is real, nor do I want him to be real), let me explain why he interests me. He just does. That's it? Well it's true. He looks just like a human, you know a 7-13 foot tall human, with really long arms, tentacles, no face, stalks people, and has the supernatural ability to short out technology and spread fear through humans that controls them like a disease. Ah, so not really human after all. Maybe this is why he is interesting to me, he is nothing like a human.

These monsters, myths and legends aren't real. This might be why they are so interesting. They are twisted, stalk us, tear us up, and lets face it, that ain't normal at all. Yet we want to know more about the cool looking and demonic beings because its fun (and scary) to imagine what it's like. It creates suspense when we see Pennywise's face pop up out of the sewer drain, or a hear Sasquatch moving in the woods, or God forbid the Demogorgon coming to kill your best friend Barb (the Upside Down only exists in Stranger Things right?). It is fun for the mind to comprehend a situation where we might be living in a world with creatures like these, and wonder what twisted mind came up with these killers. We love the suspense and the ideas of these monsters, but thank God everyday that they are not real..........or are they?
